The Modern Maison

Soft, grounded finishes meet modern architecture in this Elmhurst family home.

We joined this new build alongside McKenna Homes just as the home was framed and ready for finishes. From that point on, every decision mattered. We got to work refining the material palette, ensuring it felt soft, organic, and aligned with the architectural direction of the home.

The goal was clear. Create a space that feels warm, durable, and approachable for a busy family of six, without sacrificing beauty. We leaned into earthy, muted tones that will age well and carry the home forward for years to come.

Throughout the home, moments of detail bring depth and character. Picture frame molding adds a sense of structure and quiet tradition. The powder bath introduces a bold stone moment that feels intentional and elevated. In the primary bath, a tadelakt plaster shower creates a soft, textural experience that feels both timeless and modern.

Layered furnishings and thoughtful finishes complete the story, bringing warmth into the clean lines of the build. The end result is a home that feels grounded, inviting, and fully lived in from day one.
